In response to the call for higher standards of installation and oversight on construction projects, Kingspan Facades will be underpinned by an industry-leading Compliance Assured scheme to support customers through design, installation training and on-site inspection during construction and handover of a BS 8414 tested, BR 135 certified Kingspan Facade system. Kingspan Environmental Division was renamed Kingspan Water & Energy to better reflect its ambition to become a global leader in the design and supply of sustainable water management solutions, as well as environmentally responsible energy storage solutions, powered by smart monitoring. A new whitepaper from Kingspan Insulation examined how insulation specification can have a significant impact on daylight levels within a building. Kingspan Insulation invested € 17m in two state-of-the-art, low waste production lines at its facilities in Derbyshire and North Yorkshire: a prototype Continuous Process Line 3 (CPL3), which is the latest evolution in the firm’s Queen’s Award-winning CPL technology, and a 2,400 m 2 manufacturing line for XPS insulation. Acquisitions included the Spanish polyurethanes business, Synthesia International, Poliuretanos and Huurre in the first quarter of 2018, Poland- based manufacturer of insulated panels and insulation boards, Balex Metal sp. z.o.o., Norwegian water-treatment company Vestfold Plastindustri, and the Brakel Group, a Dutch based leader in the daylight, natural ventilation and smoke management sectors. The Group also established Kingspan Jindal in India, and announced a US$10m investment in Invicara, a provider of transformative software solutions. Kingspan Insulation has introduced Kingspan Thermataper TT44-K and Thermataper TT47-K, its first tapered roofing systems to incorporate its premium performance Kooltherm insulation, delivering excellent drainage and thermal efficiency with even slimmer, lightweight constructions. A new range of architectural floor finishes was launched at London Build 2018 as part of Kingspan Access Floors’ product range. The new range of integrated, bonded and overlay finishes include a wide variety of Terrazzo, Porcelain and genuine timber. Achievements Kingspan Group has been placed on the CDP Climate Change ‘A’ list for a third year running. In 2017, 69% of the total energy used by Kingspan’s operations came from renewable sources, and the Group is on target to achieve its goal of Net Zero Energy (NZE) status by 2020. The new Light + Air division performed ahead of expectations and expanded the range of product solutions the business offers. After a strong year in 2017 and the development of a unique US and European footprint, sales were up 57% in the first half of 2018.
