TCS’ #DigitalEmpowers site highlights inspiring examples of how technology is being used as a force for good and improving lives around the world. Whether it’s drones helping protect forests in Europe or technology empowering women in rural India to set up as global sole traders, #DigitalEmpowers puts TCS at the head of the ‘tech for good’ movement. TCS won eight prizes at the Corporate Content Awards which took place in London, including a gold award for best branded content site for #DigitalEmpowers. Brand Values TCS understands that the UK’s skills challenges can be addressed by raising the profile of digital skills and exposing young people to the opportunities of digital career paths at an early age. In 2018, TCS hosted the Digital Explorers – Experience Work programme. The scheme gives young people aged 14 to 19 the chance to experience work in digital industries and come away with a greater chance of succeeding in the sector. The 2018 programme included a workshop week in the summer, where TCS invited groups of students to present their ideas for possible new digital applications to a panel of experts who took on the role of judges. Combined, TCS’ award-winning UK STEM outreach programmes have inspired more than 300,000 young people to explore a digital future. Analytics now rules over instinct, customer experience defines your brand, and the winners are determined not by size or scale, but by their innovation, insight and agility. Product Many iconic UK brands work in partnership with TCS to transform their business models for the digital era, creating new revenue streams and enhancing the customer experience to drive growth. In 2018, TCS announced that it is helping Marks & Spencer transform into a digital retailer in a project that will involve new apps, increased use of APIs, automation and blockchain. TCS has also helped Virgin Atlantic transform its culture towards agile ways of working. In the engineering sector, TCS’ partnership with Rolls-Royce has seen the latter launch new analytics and agile capabilities, as well as a new UK customer delivery centre. Achievements TCS was recognised as the number one IT services organisation for customer satisfaction in the UK by Whitelane, a leading European research agency. The Whitelane study surveyed more than 240 business leaders (CIOs, CEOs, CFOs and their direct reports) and TCS received a customer satisfaction score of 81%, leaving it in first place in a field of 31 providers. TCS also ranked number one in application development, maintenance, testing and SaaS, data centre, managed infrastructure and hosting. Furthermore, Brand Finance named TCS the Fastest Growing Brand of the Decade in IT Services, while the CRF institute recognised TCS as the UK’s top employer. TCS is also the largest software consultancy in the UK to have been certified gold for the UK’s ‘Investors in People’ marque. Overall, TCS UK won, or was nominated for, more than 50 awards across departments and disciplines. Recent Developments TCS’ role as Official Technology Partner of the London Marathon was elevated to another level in 2018. It built on the success of the 2017 event, where the TCS-developed official event app launched for the first time, being downloaded on nearly 300,000 devices. The 2018 edition improved on this total, setting a world record for marathon apps being downloaded to over 360,000 devices. The partnership also allowed TCS to promote digital wellbeing, mindfulness and physical fitness via social media activations. Elsewhere, TCS cemented its position at the heart of the UK’s digital economy by hosting an Innovation Forum in London, focused on the topic of driving the Business 4.0 agenda. TCS provided a forum for C-suite executives, customers and technology innovation speakers to come together and discuss how businesses need a mindset shift from ‘optimising scarce resources’ to ‘harnessing abundance’. TCS looks to help its customers focus technology platforms on using resources which are in abundance – such as capital, talent and capabilities – in real-time to move away from limited thinking.
