ACHIEVEMENTS Despite being a relatively young establishment, POWERPAC has chalked up a slew of awards in less than a decade since its founding. At the age of 21, the Chairman of POWERPAC, Mr Marcus Ong, was conferred the title “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2012. POWERPAC was awarded the Overall Emerging Award by SME One Asia that same year. The Singapore Prestige Brand Award also accorded the Promising Brand Award to POWERPAC for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012. The following year, POWERPAC once again attained the Maybank Regional Brand Award by the Singapore Prestige Brand Award along with the Enterprise 50 Award and Business Superbrands, which pays tribute to some of Singapore’s strongest business-to-business brands. In 2015, POWERPAC clinched the Established Brand Award by the Singapore Prestige Brand Award for its success in penetrating and establishing a long-standing brand presence in the industry. To add to its accomplishments, POWERPAC bagged another accolade by the Enterprise 50 Award, which saw it leapfrog from the 38th position in 2013 to the 15th position two years later with its contribution to the economic development both locally and abroad. These accolades serve as a strong reflection of its branding efforts, growth potential and highlights the collective efforts that POWERPAC undertakes to stay competitive and relevant in today’s ever-changing business environment. HISTORY POWERPAC had a humble beginning and went through several facelifts before its achievements today. In his teens, Mr Marcus Ong was privileged to have had the opportunity to learn and work with his father, Datuk Derrick Ong, a veteran in the construction machinery industry. 2004 marked the incorporation of Powerplus Group Pte Ltd, a manufacturer of a diverse range of construction machinery and heavy equipment. The road-making machinery division has always been a part of the Powerplus Group since 2004. In 2008, Marcus saw an untapped opportunity to grow and propagate this niche market, which focuses on road- making machinery. This propelled him to spin- off the road-making machinery division from Powerplus to further develop its specialisation on roadworks. Hence, POWERPAC was formed. PRODUCT The vast range of POWERPAC products include rollers, compactors, motor graders, asphalt pavers, asphalt-mixing plants, concrete- batching plants, stone-crushing plants, milling machines and commercial vehicles. Each model is configured to the highest international standards with a convergence on design, efficiency and safety. Every POWERPAC machine undergoes a technical review every two years and by the third year, an enhanced model is introduced to the market. POWERPAC’s latest range of Mark-VIII Motor Graders is one illustration. Its newest range now comes with a torque limiter that protects the equipment from damage that may result from a mechanical overload; as well as to prolong its life span. New measures have been taken that will enable the machine to reduce emissions of air
